The ELEMENT 400 L is Messer’s flagship large-format laser cutting machine, engineered to meet the demanding requirements of modern metal fabrication. Built on a modular platform, it offers exceptional flexibility, allowing manufacturers to configure the machine according to their specific production requirements.
The machine excels in bevel laser cutting applications, delivering precise cuts for both continuous operation and special tasks. Its steel crossbeam and X-axis structure feature precision-machined surfaces and linear ways that provide maximum stability and smooth, stable motion.
Equipped with AC servo drives and premium-quality planetary gearboxes, the ELEMENT 400 L achieves high simultaneous positioning speeds while virtually eliminating backlash, resulting in smooth, repeatable motion. The hydraulic up/down-enabled shuttle system facilitates single-level bevel cutting, enabling faster processing with high accuracy. In addition, the machine offers highly accurate programmable positioning and flexible processing capabilities, making it well suited for proven bevel cutting processes used in weld preparation.
Productivity is further enhanced by a parallel exchange table, which enables faster pallet changes and maximizes machine uptime.
Technical Highlights
A positioning speed of 50 m/min helps reduce cycle times. Digital AC servo drives with precision gearboxes on the X and Y axes ensure accurate positioning. A robust beam with linear motion guides on both axes delivers superior cut quality.
Compact machine design with fully concealed cables and hoses enhances safety and ease of maintenance. Reliable height control extends nozzle life while ensuring consistently high-quality cuts. The modular platform allows machine size to be configured according to application requirements.
The machine is compatible with laser power of up to 40 kW. Sure Stop collision protection safeguards the cutting torch against accidental impact.
